Keeler Three's

 On Wednesday we sent home information with the students login information for Google. Please ensure you can access our Google Classroom, we have included some tasks we are working on in Grade 3! Also included are some accounts we have made for the students on educational resources and games such as Math Prodigy, Sumdog, SpellingCity, Typing Club. 

This week we participated in a virtual Remembrance Day assembly. The Grade 3 students worked hard to represent illustrations for the book 'A Poppy is to Remember' by Heather Patterson. The students narrated the book and we put it together to share with Keeler School. Our students were very thoughtful and respectful in the discussions about Remembrance Day.

They love estimating and getting clues to narrow down the set.  The last couple weeks, we have focused on representing numbers up to 1000 in different ways. The below photos show students representing numbers in Standard Form, Expanded Form, Word Form and using Base Ten Blocks.  Science We have started our Rocks and Minerals Unit. Students have shared their previous knowledge and asked some questions about what they would like to learn. The students are practicing some research skills, watching videos and recording important information in a graphic organizer.
